A minor girl, who was abducted by People's War naxalites from Rudraram village of Tadicherla mandal three months ago, and another woman cadre were killed in an encounter with the police near Boggulavagu on the outskirts of Peddathundla village of Tadicherla mandal this morning. According to reports reaching here, the girl Narsingojula Padma alias Vanaja (14) of Rudraram village and another woman, Kavitha alias Rajitha of Chinathundla village of Tadicherla mandal, both members of the Manthani Area committee squad, were killed in the encounter. Padma was abducted from her house when her marriage was fixed to a boy from Warangal district. Following the abduction, the girl's parents approached various human rights organisations for help. Police recovered two DBBLs, one tapancha, and seven kitbags from the scene of the encounter. Police suspect that some other naxalite might have sustained serious injuries in the exchange of fire as they noticed bloodstains.
