``This bus service is much above profit and loss. We have seen that people of both the countries have such close links. So many families have their daughters married in Pakistan. People are coming for medical treatment and to meet their relatives and friends. We have the satisfaction that we are providing them a cheap and convenient mode of transport to these people,'' DTC Chairman A.J.S. Sahney said when asked about the impact such a low number of passengers would have on the running of the corporation. The arrival of such a small number of passengers was due to the fact that people are not getting visa from both the sides. He said that these were initial hiccups which would be gradually sorted out. ``This is the first bus which has come back. The situation will definitely improve. Already 18 to 20 people have booked their seats in the next bus despite holidays.'' According to Mr. Sahney, the DTC buses were going full to the capacity before the Lahore bus service was suspended after the attack on Parliament in December, 2001. UNI
