Agreement on ceasefire

Aizawl July 13. The ninth round of talks between the Bru National Liberation Front (BNLF) and the Mizoram Government has ended on a positive note with both sides agreeing to meet again in August to formulate the final draft of a prospective peace agreement. Senior Government officials today said that an end to the long deliberations could be expected soon.

However, official sources informed here that the crucial issue of the repatriation of Bru refugees from neighbouring Tripura was yet to be discussed and remained a major stumbling block in the peace process.
