Both sides agreed to explore and exploit the abundant natural resources of the North-East region and Bangladesh, identify exportable items and to work together to rectify the present trade imbalances between the two countries. The two sides agreed to assist each other to find out ways and means of setting up joint ventures. The MoU was signed by R.C. Agarwal of NEFIT, A.H.M. Chowdhury of the Chittagong Chamber and Md. Mohiuddin of the Sylhet Chamber.
