Autorickshaw passenger suffers `bullet injury'

BANGALORE JuLY 7. An autorickshaw passenger received suspected bullet injury in Viveknagar here on Sunday.

According to police, Satyajit Kumar Singh, a worker engaged in polishing of floor tiles, was on his way in the autorickshaw with a floor-polishing machine. The driver stopped the vehicle for some time near the Ring Road in Viveknagar.

When he returned, he found Singh to be unwell and bleeding from his hand. Singh then asked the driver to take him to a mason's house in BTM Layout.

Later, Singh was taken to a private nursing home and treated as an outpatient.

Police suspected that Singh might have received bullet injury as the incident occurred near a military firing range. A bullet might have pierced through his hand, they said.

Viveknagar Police have registered a case. Investigation is on.

Man killed in accident

An employee of a private cellular firm was killed and three injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a KSRTC bus near Bidadi on Monday.

The car was on its way to Bangalore from Mysore when the mishap occurred at Dasappa Dodi. The dead has been identified as Santosh (31) of Holenarsipur.

The injured are Thyagaraj, Vinay and Venkatesh. They have been admitted to NIMHANS here.

Police who arrested the bus driver have seized the bus. Investigation is on.
