Globe Trotters opener Sadagopan Ramesh scored a record breaking triple century, remaining unbeaten on 307, as his team declared its first innings at 522 for four against SPIC on the second day of the SPIC-TNCA first division league, here, on Monday. Among other batsmen, R. Satish (India Pistons), C. Sanju (Parry's) and C. Hemant Kumar (Globe Trotters) completed centuries on Monday. Overnight 235, Ramesh continued to plunder the bowling at SPIC-YMCA while Hemant Kumar, undefeated on 94, got to the three-figure mark (103, 213b, 9x4), the two adding 290 runs for the third wicket in 64.5 overs. In reply, SPIC had made 283 for nine, opener Vikram Mani (49, 54b, 11x4) and No. 3 T. Karunamurthy (44, 76b, 5x4, 1x6) being the principal contributors. For Trotters, paceman S. Sreeshanth claimed three for 31. Vijay CC declared at a mammoth 532 for seven at the expense of Jolly Rovers at IIT-Chemplast. While No. 3 Sunil Viswanathan (152, 288b, 18x4, 1x5), added 15 more runs to his overnight tally, it was No. 5 D.J. Gokulakrishnan's 95 (123b, 8x4, 3x6) that enabled his team cross the 500-run mark. Paceman Munaf Patel finished with three for 61. Jolly Rovers made a strong reply (174 for one) with opener S. Sujith (72 batting, 129b, 12x4) and S. Badrinath (85 batting, 144b, 12x4) raising 164 for the second wicket in 43 overs. India Pistons' R. Satish (144, 168b, 1x6, 20x4) was in blazing form at CPT-IP, rattling up 98 runs in the pre-lunch session. Satish and wicket-keeper batsman T.R. Arasu (58, 132b, 6x4) raised 169 for the fifth wicket in 43 overs, while there was a handy 40 (105b, 3x4) from D. Dandapani. Mosquitos pacemen C. Ganapathy and P. Satish shared six wickets between them. With a first innings deficit of 206, Mosquitos, with Anirudh Srikkanth unbeaten on 50 (80b, 10x4), ended day two at 71 for two. IOB, thanks to opener Amit Pathak's 73 (117b, 9x4) and No. 4. Y. Venugopala Rao's unbeaten 145 (203b, 16 x 4, 1 x6 ), reached 340 against SICAL. Off-spinner S.R. Ganesh Kumar and leggie M.P. Rajesh scalped six between them. SICAL replied with 186 for six, No. 4 Satyajit Medappa undefeated on 64 (193b, 5x4) at the Vivekananda ground. Paceman Prashanth Chandran (three for 38) and Aaditya Srikkanth (four for 30), bowling left-arm spin, combined to dismiss ICF for 174 after Alwarpet had made 304 in the first innings. ICF was 46 for five at one stage before opener Vijay Gopi (89, 232b, 10x4) and V. Arumugapandi (37) put on 94 for the sixth wicket in 45.3 overs. In the Alwarpet innings, No. 7 D. Vasu was dismissed for 79 (144b, 13x4), while off-spinner Huzefa M. Patel (four for 109) and S. Padmanabhan (three for 53) enjoyed a measure of success. Parry's, with R.C. Vasant Kumar and P. Sanju progressing to 150 (276b, 22x4, 2x6) and 146 (238b, 19x4) respectively, declared at a healthy 456 for eight against UFCC (T. Nagar) at ICL-Guru Nanak.Vasant and Sanju were involved in a 239-run stand for the third wicket in 68.4 overs. Noor Mohammed Khan chipped in with 45 (95b, 6x4) for Parry's, UFCC paceman D. Devanand claimed four for 80, and 'keeper H. Gopinath was involved in four dismissals. UFCC was 84 without loss at close with opener V.B. Chandrasekar on 52 (119b, 9x4).
