Hassan reiterates demand

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM July 7. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, M. M. Hassan, today reiterated the demand for the withdrawal of the palmolien case against the veteran Congress leader, K. Karunakaran, as it was politically motivated.

Addressing a press conference here today, Mr. Hassan said that the Committee on Public Undertakings, of which he was chairman during the 1995-96 period, did not submit its report to the Assembly.

The committee had merely finalised the report on the CAG's audit and could not submit its report as the Assembly term was over. Mr Hassan said that nowhere in the report was Mr. Karunakaran's involvement mentioned in the report.
