Mahesh moves up to No. 2 spot

NEW DELHI JULY 7. Mahesh Bhupathi has moved to the No. 2 position in the world in the latest doubles rankings released by the ATP on Monday.

Max Mirnyi of Belarus who had made it to the Wimbledon final with Mahesh has moved ahead to be No.1 with 5155 points while Mahesh has 4685 points.

Leander Paes is at No.11 with 2935 points, while Prakash Amritraj is the third best Indian in doubles at 206 with 220 ATP points. Harsh Mankad at 291 and Rohan Bopanna at 293 are the others up in the list.

Prakash has, in fact, done very well to jump up by 204 places to the 414th spot in singles with 61 ATP points.

Rohan Bopanna is the best-ranked Indian in singles at 316 with 89 ATP points, while Harsh Mankad has been placed at 361 with 75 points. Vijay Kannan (525), Sunil Kumar (565) and Vinod Sridhar (626) are the others figuring at the top of the Indian list.
