RTA agent held, fake licences seized

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD July 4. The Commissioner's Task Force, east zone team, apprehended an RTA agent at Falaknuma bus depot and seized 13 fake driving licences on Thursday.

The team acted on credible information that the accused Mohd. Lateef alias Aktar (29) and a resident of Bibika Chashma, Falaknuma, had been making fake driving licences and giving them to persons who approached him. He also prepared fake rubber stamps of Additional Licensing Authority, Hyderabad, South Zone, AP.

It was found that the accused had issued about 300 fake licences for motor cycles, light motor vehicles, autorickshaw and other non-transport vehicles and earned Rs. 250 to Rs.400 on each licence. He would, however, caution his `clients' that the licences should not be shown to RTA authorities but could be shown to the traffic police. The accused had been handed over to Station House Officer, Falaknuma police station, for further investigation.

Travel agency owner held

The Commissioner's Task Force, east zone, arrested a travel agency owner who had allegedly been collecting amounts from candidates on the promise of securing them job visas to work in South Korea here on Thursday.

According to the police, Md. Muthar Quraishi (25) and his elder brother Md. Muzafar opened a travel agency `Pacific Overseas' in Malakpet without any valid licence to process Visa or passport applications. They had allegedly collected Rs.50,000 from one Ahmed Amri for providing a job visa to South Korea. But instead they had given him a visiting visa just before four days of its expiry date and thus he was denied permission to board flight at Madras Airport.

The accused later had taken the passport of Ahmed Amri for getting him fresh job visa. But they had neither returned the passport nor money to him.

Brothel raided

The police on Thursday raided an apartment at Padmaraonagar and arrested two women on the charge of indulging in flesh trade.
