Srinagar to host Inter-State Council meet

Jammu July 4. For the first time in its history, the Inter-State Council will meet outside Delhi, in Srinagar, on August 26 and 27.The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, will inaugurate the conference which will be attended by the Chief Ministers of all the States and Lt. Governors of the Union Territories. Several Union Ministers and senior officials in the Central and State Governments will also attend.

As part of the process of finalising the arrangements, the Secretary, Inter-State Council, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ashoka Kumar Rastogi, arrived here today.
