BRISBANE July 4 Bangladesh put on strong displays of batting and bowling Friday to stay locked in a tight tour match with the Australian Cricket Academy after two days at Allan Border Field.

Bangladesh declared its first innings at 232-7, a deficit of 26, and reduced the Academy to 99-4 in its second innings at stumps on day two.

With one day left, the Academy leads by 125 runs with six wickets remaining.

Resuming on Friday at 53-1 in pursuit of the Academy's first-innings score of 258-3 declared, Bangladesh produced its most assertive batting of the tour.

The Bangladesh innings lost momentum after Omar was dismissed following a 213-minute innings which included 12 boundaries.

Captain Aaron Nye (2-40 off 18 overs) and fellow medium pacer Callum Ferguson (2-5 off five) were the Academy's only multiple wicket takers.

In its second innings, the Academy lost opening batsman Simon Williams (three) and Scott Meuleman (29) to opening bowler Mashrafe Mortaza (2-19 off six).

At stumps, Nye was unbeaten on 27 and Ferguson on 10 in a 27-run stand.
