Pak. to impose surcharge on overstayers

ISLAMABAD July 4. Indian nationals who stay in Pakistan beyond the validity of their visa period would have to a pay a `surcharge' of Rs. 20 per day with effect from July 25.

The decision is part of new rules formulated by the Ministry of Interior with regard to foreigners who overstay beyond the period of visa granted to them.

The surcharge would not be applicable in case of children up to 12 years of age.

Only 50 per cent surcharge shall be payable in case of children up to 18 years of age.
