Those who have not opted for any tariff package will be billed as per the general package. The bills in respect of PCOs will be issued fortnightly and bills for regular subscribers will be issued monthly for `heavy' callers and bi-monthly for others. The bills for corporate subscribers will continue to be issued on a monthly basis with eligible discount. In all cases, the free calls and call charges will be regulated on a monthly basis irrespective of the billing period, said the release. The bills issued to consumers in July will have the charges for May and June. The bills issued to consumers in August will include the charges for three months (for the period May, June and July). The bills issued in June for these subscribers covered charges for only one month (April) in order to facilitate smooth transition to the new tariff. Itemised bills containing STD/ISD details are chargeable at the rate of Rs.30 per bill from May 1 onwards.
