``Let there be no more `ifs' and `buts.' The Commissioner for Railway Safety is investigating into the matter and will come out with the results in 10 days. It is appropriate that we wait rather than jump to conclusions,'' he told presspersons here today. The Railway authorities have come up with different versions of the reasons for the accident so far with the Union Minister himself pointing at technical failure while the South Central Railway General Manager, T. Stanley Babu, put the blame on the Golkonda Express driver. Mr. Dattatreya said the investigation by the Commissioner of Railway Safety would predominantly look into three aspects that could have led to the accident - whether the air brakes of the train were functioning or not, possible defects in locomotive and its maintenance and the failure of the sand hump to stop the hurtling train. "The sand hump had failed in a similar fashion some years ago resulting in a rail accident at the same spot,'' he said. He affirmed that those found responsible for the accident would not be spared.
