Eicher Motors sales up

NEW DELHI JULY 4. Eicher Motors today said its domestic sales surged by 32.3 per cent in June to 1,266 units from 957 units in the same month last year. Cumulative (April-June) domestic sales went up by 32.5 per cent to 2,846 vehicles from 2,148 vehicles a year ago, a company statement said.

Total sales, including exports, in the first quarter of the current fiscal stood higher by 22.2 per cent at 3,059 units against 2,502 units last year. The growth was primarily on account of good demand for light commercial vehicles, Eicher's mainstay. The company also sold 230 units of the recently-launched 16-tonne heavy commercial vehicle `Eicher Jumbo 20:16' during the April-June quarter.
