Four students selected for Science Olympiad

BANGALORE JUNE 30 . A team of four school students consisting of Kshitij Bansal (Apeejay School, Noida), Ishaan Behroora (DPS, RK Puram, Delhi), Swarnendu Dutta (Krishnapur Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Kolkata) and Indraneel Mukherjee (Calcutta Boys School, Kolkata), will represent India at the IOI (Interational Olympiad Informatics) 2003 scheduled to be held at the University of Wisconsin in the United States.

The International Olympiad in Informatics is one of the six Science Olympiads held annually.

This is the second year that the country is fielding a team at the International Olympiad.

Madhavan Mukund, secretary of the Olympiad's Indian leg organiser, IARCS (Indian Association For Research in Computing Science), said the association is committed to promote research activities at the individual level.

It was trying to get the best out of students, he added.

Bindu Hari, Director, TISB(The International School Bangalore), which hosted the Indian leg, said the IARCS has been in the forefront particularly in the experimentation and introduction of new technology in related curriculum of Computer Science and Informatics Practices as a subject and Web Designing as an additional subject.
