AI to resume flights to Hong Kong

By Our Special Correspondent

MUMBAI JUNE 30. Air India will resume two of the five weekly flights to Hong Kong suspended due to fears of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in mid-April from July 11, the airlines announced here today.

To operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, the Mumbai-Delhi-Hong Kong flights will also operate as earlier on the extended sector to Osaka. As the traffic grows, the number of flights will be stepped up. Starting July 4, Air India will add another frequency to Newark via Paris, its fifth since December last, taking the number of services per week to the U.S. to 15.

Of these flights, seven are on the India-London-New York sector and the others are to Newark via Paris.
