Cricket
By Ted Corbett
Jacques Kallis who paved the way for South African victory, got the man of the match award, which Vikram Solanki stole from under his nose on Saturday. All three sides are now level on six points with six matches remaining. Zimbabwe made steady progress initially without ever suggesting that its batting was capable of scoring 273 and Travis Friend, promoted to No. 3, kept it on target until he was out for 82 off 93 balls with 136 still needed. He was ably supported by opening batsman Dion Ebrahim who made 40. The rest of the batting didn't actually bother Proteas' bowling. Andrew Hall picked up three wickets as South Africa emerged victorious comfortably. Zimbabwe beat England's small total with something in hand at Trent Bridge in the first game but its batting was unable to reach a bigger target.
