By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM June 30. The Kerala Government has decided to delink the proposed Virology Institute from the Alappuzha Medical College and develop it as an independent institution.

Replying to a submission by K.C. Venugopal (Congress) in the Assembly today, the Health Minister, P. Sankaran, said a decision to this effect was taken at a meeting convened by him on June 26. A special officer would be appointed soon for the purpose and efforts would be made to secure assistance from agencies such as WHO and the World Bank.
