This Day That Age
Despite severe criticism heaped on the Australians by the Press, or perhaps because of it, the tourists came up strongly in the Second Test at Lord's. Australia made 346 in the first innings (Hassett 104, A. K. Davidson 76), and England replied with 372 (Len Hutton 145, Tom Graveney 78, Lindwall 5 for 66). Australia then raised 368 (Miller 109, Morris 89, Brown 4 for 82). In the fourth innings England were 12 for 3, having lost Hutton, Kenyon, and Graveney, all to Lindwall whose figures read 5-1-7-2.
