Back on air after July 7

KOLKATA: Sahara Entertainment's controversial mega-serial, Karishma — A miracle of destiny, was on Monday given the go-ahead for telecast after July 7 by the Calcutta High Court, which vacated its earlier stay order granted on the plea of copyright infringement by an American author. After a bitter legal battle between Sahara and the petitioner, Barbara Taylor Bradford, since the first week of May, the serial — starring Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor — was allowed to be telecast. Only the first episode of the Rs. 60-crore mega serial was telecast on May 12 when the Supreme Court passed a stay order on it following a petition by Ms. Bradford's lawyers.
