CM promises more forces to Rallanantapuram

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD June 26. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, said he would instruct police to send reinforcements to Rallanantapuram village in Anantapur district to prevent possible retaliatory attacks by naxalites who made an aborted attempt to kidnap the TDP MLA from Kalyandurg, A. Sharadamba.

He made this offer in response to a plea by Ms. Sharadamba at a TDP meeting to provide police protection to villagers who were fearing that Naxalites would cause them harm.

Men and women of Rallanantapuram had thwarted the extremists and even captured five of them after the latter tried to abduct the legislator.

Ex gratia announced

Mr. Naidu also announced that the TDP would pay an ex gratia of Rs. 1 lakh each to the kin of three partymen killed by naxalites in Adilabad, Nizamabad and Prakasam districts.
