VSNL America would help in roping in U.S.-based companies, in turn, garnering higher revenues, they said. The Tata Group company would also invest in setting up points of presence (PoP) in the U.S. and Europe, enabling it to provide connectivity between these nations and the Indian sub-continent, they said. This would be the company's third international venture, the earlier being United Telecom Ltd. (UTL) in Nepal and VSNL Lanka Ltd. in Sri Lanka. UTL, which is expected to be launched shortly, is a joint venture with the Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Ltd., Telecom Consultants India Ltd. and Nepal Ventures Pvt. Ltd. PTI
