Breather for Orissa Cong. chief

By Our Special Correspondent

New Delhi June 25. The beleaguered Orissa Pradesh Congress Committee president, Sarath Patnaik, has earned a breather. He has been asked by the party leadership to consult and involve all sections in building the party.

Dissident party leaders from the State have been camping here for the last few days. Today they met the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, and complained against the State chief. A section of the leaders even demanded his replacement. Ms. Gandhi heard their complaints, but did not respond to their demand to replace Mr. Patnaik.

The AICC general secretary in-charge of the State, Mr. Kamal Nath. also met the dissidents and the OPCC chief and asked the latter to work in tandem.
