Effective tapping of HR stressed

By Our Special Correspondent

BANGALORE JUNE 25. The founder of the International Art of Living Foundation, Sri Ravishankar, today stressed the need for effective tapping of human resources to accelerate the country's economic growth.

Speaking at the first convocation of the Indian Business Academy (IBA) here, he asked the first batch of postgraduate management students to strike a balance between theory and practice in life to maximise output.

"Business is a most important aspect of life, and without business, society and man are incomplete," he said.

Comparing the economic growth rate of China and India, Ravishankar Guruji said China had registered a high growth rate due to effective use of the available manpower. He urged the Indian business leaders to incorporate good ethics of corporate governance to provide maximum service to society.

Stating that good negotiating skills were prerequisites for successful entrepreneurship and faster growth, Ravishankar Guruji said the curriculum offered at the IBA was an admirable blend of western practices and Indian ethical values.
