Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Special Correspondent
The Government issued orders for issuing 10 lakh cards subject to this verification. The orders provided for clearing all the applications received during the 18 rounds of Janmabhoomi so far or otherwise, and the ones expected during the 19th round beginning July 1. As per the Chief Minister's promise made yesterday at the nodal officers' meeting at the MCR HRD Institute here, the distribution will begin after the 19th round and is to be completed within `two to three' months. The GO stipulated that the eligibility of the applicants should be `confirmed' at grama sabhas to be held after verification. It asked the District Collectors to send their proposals in line with the number of applications received so far in the district, to the Civil Supplies Commissioner for making suitable arrangements for availability of items like rice. It said, district-wise allotment of white and pink cards would be communicated to the Collectors separately.
