LONDON: Gladiator actor Russell Crowe is now poised to don the garb of a sports presenter. Busybody Crowe's multi-tasking includes playing with the band `30-Odd Foot of Grunt' and dealing with first-time fatherhood. The backdrop has now shifted to the sporting arena. The Hollywood actor is currently engaged in negotiations with Australia's Channel 9 to host their coverage of the State of Origin fixture between New South Wales and Queensland. While Channel 9 is yet to comment on his likely appointment, Crowe is delighted to be involved. Although executives don't think he's capable of taking over the commentary box, the Oscar-winner is expected to host the programme's opening section, before handing over to a panel of experts. ANI
