Mr. Chaturvedi said his association with Mr. Chawla, who is the Secretary of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), was three decades old, and described him as a man with "high literary tastes and social sensitivity". Mr. Chawla narrated an incident in 1991 wherein he read out a paragraph from the prologue of the final manuscript to the Mother and, after listening to it, she told him to "get it published everywhere". The book has since been published in 15 languages, besides English, he said. B.S.Patil, Chief Secretary, Vishweshwar Bhat, Executive Managing Editor, Vijaya Karnataka, and Prof. Seshagiri Rao were present.
