Two held for taking money from job-seekers

BANGALORE June 8. Byatarayanapura Police arrested Anu (26) from Kerala, who along with her father, had set up a bogus ``consultancy'' here to help people get jobs abroad. Anu and her father released advertisements in March and October last year in a Malayalam daily, and collected money from aspirants who responded, police said on Sunday. Anu's father was on the run, they added.

Suicide

Anitaratna (32) allegedly hanged herself to death from a ceiling fan in her house in Vijayanagar on Sunday, police said.

In another incident, Vijita (20) hanged herself to death in her house in Banaswadi on Saturday. Investigation is on.

Killed in road mishaps

A pedestrian died after a car hit him on 9th Main, Rajajinagar, on Saturday. The name of the victim was given as Prakash (40), an employee of KLE College, here.

In Sanjaynagar, a pillion rider was killed after the rider lost control over the two-wheeler near a speed breaker on New BEL Road on Saturday. The name of the dead was given as Jyothirmai Das (22), a resident of Basavanagudi. RT Nagar Police are investigating.
