LONDON: J.R.R. Tolkien's monster characters, the `Orcs', in the fantasy epic The Lord Of The Rings have made their way into the Oxford English Dictionary (OED). The word `orc' is said to derive from the Latin orcus meaning hell or orco, Italian for monster. They are described as "members of an imaginary race of ugly, aggressive human-like creatures". Others words among the 6,000 new entries include teenage sayings such as "bling bling", meaning hip-hop fashion, and "minging", meaning disgusting. New techno words include "phreaking" (hacking into phone systems) and "blipverts" (TV ads lasting a second). "Viagra", "botox", "alcopops", "honey traps" and "It Girl" made it for the first time.
