Road mishaps claim three

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM June 7. Three persons were killed in the city on Saturday in three separate accidents.

Prashant (19) of Panayamuttam, Nedumangad was killed when the bike on which he was pillion riding, collided with a jeep at Vallakkadavu at about 3 p.m. Shibu (29), who was riding the bike has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital with injuries.

Ramachandran Nair (54) of Vadakkevila Veedu, Aruvikkara, an employee of KTDC Chaitram hotel, was killed when the scooter on which he was riding was hit by a KSRTC bus near Vazhayila.

Babukkuttan (40) of Ayilam, Attingal was killed when the scooter on which was riding was hit by a lorry near Maamam at about 9 p.m. on Saturday. Though he was rushed to the MCH, his life could not be saved.

Injured: In another accident in the city, a Maruti car driven by Rajiv, son of the Health Minister, P. Sankaran, hit an autorickshaw at the Panavila Junction at about 8-30 p.m. on Saturday.

The auto driver, who is yet to be identified, has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. The traffic police have taken custody of both vehicles.
