Mayor authorised to take steps for development

By Our Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM June 7. A meeting of the Capital City Development Forum held here the other day authorised the Mayor to initiate steps to see to it that the hurdles in the way of the development of the international airport are removed and exert pressure on the Airports Authority of India for the development of the airport.

A press note issued here today said the meeting concluded that new airline services should be commenced only from Thiruvananthapuram, connecting Kochi and Kozhikode.

The Mayor was authorised to exert pressure on the State Government to hand over the necessary land at Kowdiar for the proposed Habitat Centre planned by the Centre. The meeting passed a resolution urging the Chief Minister to take full advantage of the prevailing favourable climate for establishing a High Court Bench in the capital.
