RIL research centre's feat

MUMBAI JUNE 7. Reliance Industries Ltd. successfully carried out several research projects at its new research centre, Reliance Technology Centre (RTC), at Patalganga, near here. The total investment in the state-of-the-art facility, created to conduct advanced research in polymers and polyester, is $30 million.

Situated on a 2.5 acre campus, the centre has a total built up area of 60,000 sq. ft. It houses laboratories, pilot plants, a knowledge centre, a seminar hall, an archival facility and a support infrastructure for 120 personnel.

The researches so far conducted are: New generation Relpet plus PET resin process for development of bottle grade resins; Applications research in Recron 3S; Recron Superdye and Recron Dyefast. The lab needs were carefully assessed and a detailed engineering programm worked out to ensure that these labs would be on a par with the best in the world, Reliance stated.
