Perils of being a VIP

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD May 25. Being a VIP can sometimes attract unwanted publicity for one's family as the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, found today.

An unscheduled visit by his son, N. Lokesh Babu, to NTR Trust Bhavan, the TDP headquarters, yesterday attracted wide media attention forcing Mr. Naidu to deny that there was any political significance to it.

Mr. Naidu said Lokesh had stopped by to meet his personal secretary, Yogam Naidu, who happened to be in the TDP office. "He want there out of curiosity and there is nothing behind it,'' he added.

The TDP chief said; "Let him study. I want to make him a disciplined person in life and let me see how far I succeed.'' He noted that a VIP had a tough time in keeping his personal life away from unnecessary media gaze. He recalled how the papparazi had hounded Princess Diana in their attempt to probe her private affairs.

As far as his personal life was concerned, there was nothing to write about since only he and his wife, Bhuvaneswari, lived in the house as his son was studying in the United States. Visits by relatives were few and far between, he added.
