Karnataka-Bangalore
By Our Staff Reporter
What differentiates this event from other exhibitions is that the photographers in this case are not professionals or amateurs. They are all children, living and working on the streets of Bangalore. Some of them are from tribal communities and others are disabled. Titled "Of Legacies and Legends", the photographs are the outcome of a workshop that these children attended on April 30, commemorated as Anti-Child Labour Day. According to John Devaraj of Janotsava, an organisation that involves such underprivileged children in cultural activities, the workshop was held in collaboration with a Japanese child rights activist, Mioi Nakayama. Shonali, Swathi, Divya, Manjunath C., Aston, Sanjeev, Pavithra, Revathi, Meena, Sarvana, Basha, Supriya, Nithya, Namrata, Manju, Ramchandra, Vijay, Lakshmi C, Arun, Anunithya, Arun M., and Harish attended the workshop. Their creations will be on display from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education, B.K. Chandrasekhar, will inaugurate the exhibition at 11 a.m.
