LONDON: Since their public rift at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales, six years ago, the royal family and the Spencer family are to be united for the first time. Prince William, who turns 21 on June 21, is determined to hold an "inclusive" celebration which his father, the Prince of Wales, and his grandmother, the Queen, will attend along with Earl Spencer, his mother's brother, and his mother's two sisters, says a report in The Telegraph. Relying on the Prince's maturity and wisdom, palace officials hope the evening of his 21st birthday at Windsor Castle, will mark the end of years of private and, at times, open hostility between the two families.
