By B. Muralidhar Reddy
It is immediately not clear if it is the result of a policy decision by the Pakistan Government or the hosts of the site have decided to `lie low,' as the world focuses on the nascent Indo-Pak peace initiative. The site, www.markazdawa.org, has no direct connection with the Lashkar-e-Toiba. In fact, Dr. Saeed had resigned as chief of the Lashkar days after the December 13 Parliament attack and renamed the parent organisation earlier known as markazdawa as jamatdawa. Dr. Saeed had announced that Lashkar would have no link with Jamatdawa and named a Kashmiri to head the militant outfit. He had also declared that henceforth the Lashkar would confine its activities to Jammu and Kashmir. He had argued that the Lashkar did not distinguish between Kashmir under the control of Pakistan and India and did not recognise the Line of Control (LoC). The Pakistan Government had picked up Dr. Saeed a few days before the President, Pervez Musharraf, had banned Lashkar along with Jaish-e-Mohammad and others.
