Nayanar asks CM to quit

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM May 10. The former Chief Minister, E. K. Nayanar, today said A. K. Antony should step down from the Chief Minister's post owning up responsibility for the Marad killings "if he has any conscience left''.

Mr. Nayanar made this demand while inaugurating an LDF demonstration at Palayam here, organised as part of a Statewide campaign against the "Government's policy of communal appeasement, which is allowing communal forces a free run in the State.''

Thousands of LDF supporters participated in today's demonstration, held in every Assembly constituency in the State. They fasted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 140 places across the State.
