Varadarajan stars for AUCPE 'A'

KARAIKUDI APRIL 24. An all-round performance by Varadarajan (four for 27 and 63 not out) helped Alagappa University College of Physical Education `A' carve out an emphatic ten-wicket victory over Sivagangai District Cricket Club in the IOB-Sivagangai District Cricket Association `A' division league here recently.

In another match, a five-wicket haul by off-spinner Kasiviswanathan helped Aruna Sports Cricket Club defeat TCP Ltd Cricket Club, Koviloor by 12 runs.

The scores:

A division: Sivagangai CC 110 in 22.5 overs (Anwar Raja three for 10, Varadarajan four for 27) lost to AUCPE `A' 114 for no loss in 11 overs (Paramasivam 36 not out, Varadarajan 63 not out).

Aruna Sports CC 156 in 32 overs (Manikandan 49, Sangeerthanan 41, Balamurugan three for 29, Chandrasekar three for 38) bt TCP Ltd, Koviloor 144 in 27.3 overs (Thirupathy 36, Babu 50, Kasiviswanathan five for 17).

AP Tech WBC Software Lab CC 114 in 25.3 overs (Karai Ameen three for 22) lost to Alagappa University College of Physical Education `A' 115 for three in 17.3 overs (Thiruselvam 50 not out, Deepak Kumar 25 not out).

Sivagangai CC 78 in 20.2 overs (Saravanan 26, Sangeerthanan four for 14, Kasiviswanathan four for 29) lost to Aruna Sports CC 80 for one in 8.3 overs (Ashok Kumar 28 not out, Kulandai Sesu Raja 26).

B division: Devakottai CC `B' 187 for eight in 29 overs (Selvaganapathy 66 not out, Manikandan 26, Immanuel three for 33) bt B. Tech CECRI CC 186 in 33.4 overs (Rajkumar 30, Bharath Ram 46).
