Meanwhile, as per the directions of the Magistrate Court, the Crime Branch can have Thampi in their custody for three days from tomorrow. The court has directed the Crime Branch SP, Devassy, to be present at the court for the purpose and personally take custody of Thampi. A bail application for Thampi was also moved through his counsel, P. Basanth. Hearing on the same would be taken up on April 28. Earlier, there were reports that Thampi had planned to commit suicide with his wife and children had he not been arrested in Ernakulam on Tuesday.
