She was produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Ajitha K. Hassan, this evening and remanded for 14 days. She has been listed as accused number 3 in the case and her bail application will come up before the court tomorrow.

It was while Thampi was returning from Karnataka with his wife in a bus that he was arrested in Ernakulam. Yesterday, while he was brought here, his wife had accompanied him. The Crime Branch DIG, B. Sandhya, said yesterday that Maya would also figure as an accused in the case.

Meanwhile, as per the directions of the Magistrate Court, the Crime Branch can have Thampi in their custody for three days from tomorrow. The court has directed the Crime Branch SP, Devassy, to be present at the court for the purpose and personally take custody of Thampi.

A bail application for Thampi was also moved through his counsel, P. Basanth. Hearing on the same would be taken up on April 28.

Earlier, there were reports that Thampi had planned to commit suicide with his wife and children had he not been arrested in Ernakulam on Tuesday. He disclosed this to the Crime Branch Special Investigation Group sleuths during interrogation.
