Talking to mediapersons, its chairman, Somisetty Venkateswarulu, said to increase its exports, the corporation had decided to participate in the international handicrafts exhibitions. This would not only provide a platform to sell Lepakshi handicrafts, which had a great demand in the domestic market, but also enable the corporation to study the international market. The corporation had already organised study tours to UK and other Atlantic countries and was planning to organise tours to Malaysia, W. Germany and Tokyo to study the market trend and the demand for its products. Mr. Venkateswarulu, who appreciated the working of various Lepakshi sales outlets in the State, said that the corporation, which was running on profits, was planning to double its annual turnover from Rs. 28 crores last year.
