Let Cong. decide on shape, size of 'trishuls': Togadia

By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD APRIL 24. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad international general secretary, Praveen Togadia, has "advised" the Congress to decide the "size and shape'' of "trishuls'' (tridents) but the VHP would not stop distribution of the tridents among the youths in the country.

``The VHP has no dispute over the size and shape of the trishuls, which are symbolic of Hinduism. Whatever the size and shape the Congress decides about trishuls will be acceptable to the VHP, but we will not give in to the anti-Hindu tirade of the Congress Governments in various States.'' Mr. Togadia said the VHP had targeted to enrol some 30 lakh youths, of which 10 lakhs would be given "Trishul-diksha.'' Under the programme, which started some 12 years ago, five lakh youths had been covered.
