In a press preview here on Thursday, Mr. Shenoy exhibited some of his paintings, sculptures, bas reliefs, collages, and mixed media with colour impasto that explore the occult and mysticism. Mr. Sheony specialises in using indigenous colours he prepares himself. Mr. Shenoy, born in Kasargod, was associated with the Theosophical Society's international headquarters in Chennai. He is also popular for his lectures on spirituality, management sciences, and contemporary paintings and creativity in India and West Asia. This exhibition, his first after a 25-year hiatus, is his 15th solo comprising more than 150 fresh works created over a period of 11 months. The exhibition will be held at the CBOO centre in Kodialbail and will be inaugurated by the Mayor of Mangalore, M. Shashidhar Hegde. D. Krishnananda Chowta and P.S. Punchithaya, artist, will be the chief guests. The President of the CBOO, T.R. Bhat, said Swasti was an officer's movement that took up social causes. Its objectives included helping the socially downtrodden, taking up environmental issues, implementing welfare programmes regarding education and literacy, and carrying out cultural activities.
