Speaking at a function organised to release Agni Aviation's indigenously manufactured Zenair CH 701 microlight at Jakkur Aerodrome, Mr. Naik said there should be concerted efforts on the part of aviation companies to create awareness of aero-sports. He added that aero-sports would give enormous opportunities for boosting tourism. Mr. Naik commended Agni Aviation and Agni Aero-Sports Adventure Academy (AASAA), the first institution in the country to promote aero-sports adventure, for their efforts from 1994. He complimented Capt. Arvind Sharma, who is the brain behind the adventure academy. The occasion marked the launching of Agni Aviation's 50th indigenously manufactured Zenair CH 701 microlight, and Mr. Naik handed over the aircraft to Pune-based businessman, Vinaykumar Pande. The company, which started manufacturing the Zenair CH 701 metal microlights in 2000, has orders for 70 aircraft. The NCC is a major customer, and has bought 40 aircraft. Eight aircraft are operated by civil-aviation enthusiasts. Capt. Sharma welcomed the gathering.
