Twentyseven-year-old Tapesh Chowdhary, who was hit by a bullet in the back of the neck from a close range, had slipped into coma on Tuesday. The body was taken to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences where a post-mortem was conducted. At the time, his family and other relatives present to condole the death got angry with mediapersons and a couple of camera crews. The family members objected to mediapersons covering the incident. Apart from verbal exchanges, a cameraman was also allegedly threatened with serious consequences. Earlier, Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav had called on the family to know the condition of Tapesh. Following the post-mortem, the family decided to cremate the body in the compound of their house in New Friends Colony. The last rites were performed in the temple built in the compound. At midnight on Monday Tapesh was sitting in the groom's chair with the bride, Meera, by his side on the stage following the ''varmala'' ceremony when one of the guests, Chaman Sharma, came on to the stage to "bless'' the couple. He fired in the air from his friend's revolver and, while adjusting the gun for the second time, accidentally shot Tapesh. Chaman was arrested the next day. The Noida police would now add the section of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Chaman. Meanwhile, a hunt is on for Satish, Chaman's friend from whom he had borrowed the gun. "An application for cancelling his licence has also been moved,'' said the Superintendent of Police (Noida City), Vijay Bhushan.
