Justice S K Pandey allowed the civil revision petition filed by Katare, challenging the validity of the Tribunal order which held that he was involved in committing corrupt practices in winning the Mayoral election. Justice Pandey further held that the Tribunal's order was not only erroneous on points of law and considering the facts of the case, Katare's election was perfectly valid. The Tribunal, in an order on March 31 last on a petition filed by BJP candidate Vinod Tiwari challenging Katare's solitary vote victory, invalidated the Congress candidate's election, saying Katare and his election campaigners were involved in corrupt practices to win the Mayoral polls. Tiwari in his petition had alleged that Katare committed several malpractices to win the election. PTI
