Telugu Desam MLA's election upheld

HYDERABAD APRIL 22 . The election of Vanka Srinivasa Rao from the Polavaram (ST) Assembly segment in West Godavari district was upheld by G. Bikshapati, Judge of the A.P. High Court, on Tuesday.

The Judge was dismissing an election petition filed by Badisa Durga Rao, Congress nominee who lost the election to the TDP candidate. The petitioner contended that the margin was mere 24 votes and the officers colluded with the TDP candidate. The Judge said that margin was not the criterion to decide the election petition and dismissed the writ petition.
