``The confession was thoroughly convincing and we found no reasons to disbelieve her statement that she fired the mortars and participated in several ULFA operations,'' the Director-General of Police, Hare Krishna Deka, told PTI here. He was commenting on media reports here expressing doubt at Kalita's ``admission'' about her activities at a press conference organised by the police on Sunday. The reports also speculated on the ability of Kalita, who appeared ill at ease at the press conference, to have the expertise to fire a 60 mm mortar besides carrying a projectile weighing 20 kg without any help.
