By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD APRIL 22. Voith Turbo India, the Hyderabad based subsidiary of the German engineering group Voith, is planning expansion of its foundry.

It will invest a `considerable' sum in extensive upgrade and expansion to meet its own needs as well as increasing demand from external customers.

According to a release issued here on Tuesday, Volker Grosse-Wilde has taken over as the new Managing Director of Voith Turbo India in Hyderabad.

Mr. Grosse-Wilde has been working as Deputy Managing Director since January, under Guido Christ (outgoing MD).

It said further area of focus for Mr. Grosse-Wilde would be enhancement of the existing product range and intensification of the company's business activities in the service sector. Set up in Hyderabad in 1985, the subsidiary manufactures power transmission equipment and employs 170 people, it said.
