Jakhar condemns Ajit Singh's action

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI APRIL 18. The Union Agriculture Minister, Ajit Singh's threat to move the courts against the sugar mill owners has evoked a strong response from the former Minister, Balram Jakhar, who described it as a political stunt.

According to Mr. Jakhar, Ajit Singh ought to have concrete measures as the Minister in- charge, rather than threaten legal action.

"This is nothing but double standards, he files a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in his personal capacity but does nothing to help the lot of the farmers as a Minister".

He also lambasted Mr. Singh for merely paying lip sympathy to the cause of the farmers, instead of using his position to help their cause.
